The Vice-Deanship of Research of the School of Engineering works hand in hand with the Academic Units of the School to promote research and technological development processes. Its purpose is focused on capacity building, funding opportunities, management of business-university projects, among other efforts to promote research and science at Universidad del Valle.

Some of its actions are:

• Promote and follow up and analyze the research processes in the Faculty.
• To formulate, update and propose the Strategic Agenda for Research, Development and Innovation.
• Propose policies and initiatives related to research, technological development and innovation.
• Articulate the actions of research, technological development and innovation with teaching, extension and social projection of the Faculty.
• Promote the articulation of the Faculty with local, national and international l+D+i ecosystems, and define actions for their development.
• Coordinate the Research, Development and Innovation Committee of the Faculty.

Student Services

• Support and involvement in the IDiCA research seed program.
• Management of endorsement and follow-up of research assistance.
• Research seminars.
• Reception, review, follow-up in the process of calls for training, young researchers, postdoctoral stays.

• Receipt, review, follow-up and endorsement of documents submitted to the Vice-Deanship regarding research projects and proposals, research groups, research assistantships, research assistantships.
  
  

Services for teachers

• Management and creation of documents for research groups
• Technical support in the reception, review and follow-up of processes related to research projects.
• Receipt and evaluation of research proposals submitted to internal and external calls for proposals.
• Support in the formulation of strategic projects before the SGR/MinCiencias, for the search of resources that favor the harmonious growth of the Faculty's research, through inter and transdisciplinary topics.
