Functions of the Communications Office

We are an interdisciplinary team ready to guide, advise, support and create communication strategies directed and adapted to the needs of the different departments and Academic Units of the Faculty of Engineering. We help with the communication of different academic activities organized by teachers, students, researchers, officials or other internal and external third parties of interest to our Faculty Community.

  • Support the institutional communication and information processes of the Faculty internally and externally, ensuring the effectiveness, relevance and quality of all services and products.
  • Promote and disseminate the management and achievements of the Faculty in the University's mission areas.
  • Produce and publish printed, audiovisual, multimedia, hypermedia, transmedia and virtual materials aligned with the University's Institutional Identity Manual.
  • Articulate the guidelines established with the Communications Department of the University and with the different areas and heads of the academic and administrative units of the Faculty, conceptualizing campaigns and generating communication products and strategies for the social appropriation of knowledge.
  • Articulate and harmonize the internal and external communication processes at a general level with the University Communications Office and directly with the Academic Units of the Faculty.
  • Implement the policies and norms defined by the University in relation to the media and ceremonial protocols of the institution.

As a central objective, the Central Communications Node of the Faculty of Engineering (NCC-FI) seeks to permanently build a series of collaborative communication strategies that promote and position the Faculty of Engineering of the Universidad del Valle as a quality institution with a social conscience. With that in mind, we have the following guiding principles:

Boost connections between the Schools, Programs and the Dean's Office in order to identify content, establish strategies and identify the audience.

Advise, support and guide the development of graphic and multimedia pieces for the promotion, dissemination and diffusion of themes, activities, achievements and stories of our university community.

Consolidate internal and external communication in an efficient and effective manner, maintaining a synergy and unification of content and information for the Faculty's audience.
