The Academic Registration Area determines a schedule for the definition of academic stimuli for the Undergraduate Programs. The Academic Registration System - SIRA generates in the Academic Registration System - SIRA, the possible deserving of academic stimulus by Academic Program according to the conditions established for each semester. The Academic Secretaries review in SIRA and modify, if necessary, the position number corresponding to each of the students deserving the academic stimulus.

The Academic Registration Area determines a schedule for the definition of low academic performance for the Undergraduate and Graduate Programs. The Academic Registration Area generates in the Academic Registration and Admissions System - SIRA, the preliminary report on possible low yields by academic program. With this information, the Academic Coordinating Offices ratify, correct and complement the preliminary report in SIRA.

Since 2005, the School of Engineering has been a PIONEER in the implementation of the Social Work field of practice, which was born as an academic bet to articulate the Institutional actions with those of the Faculty, in search of the decrease of student desertion rates.

The interdisciplinary and integrative work carried out with the participation of professionals from different disciplines allows the monitoring of all enrolled students through the institutional information system, added to the preventive actions that are implemented in appropriate cases, allow us to provide spaces for new students to present higher levels of commitment, better social and personal skills and a better adaptation to the university academic environment.

Psychorientation Workshops Offering

The School of Engineering since last February began the process of curricular reform in all its undergraduate academic programs in order to comply with the provisions of Agreement No. 025 of 2015 issued by the Superior Council through which “the Curricular Policy and the Training Project of the Universidad del Valle is updated”.

For the implementation of this Curricular Policy, an interdisciplinary work team was formed among different professors of the Faculty and led by the Academic Vice-Deanship, which was called “Curricular Commission”, with the objective of reflecting, analyzing, debating and leading the process of curricular reform in the Faculty. For this purpose, a series of stages and activities were considered to be developed in favor of quality in the training of future graduates of the undergraduate programs of the School of Engineering.

The process proposed by the members of the Curricular Commission to carry out this reform, taking into account its complexity, was divided into two levels: Faculty and Program, that is, the first corresponds to all those aspects of generic training in the Faculty of Engineering and the second corresponds to all those specific aspects of training in an undergraduate academic program of the Faculty.
