Objectives of the Extension and Social Outreach Office

The general objective of the Office of Extension and Social Projection of the School of Engineering is to maintain, strengthen and deepen relations with the economic, social and environmental surroundings of the region and the country. Within the functions of the area we can mention the following objectives:

  • Formulate, update and propose the annual Action Plan for Extension and Social Projection of the Faculty, in accordance with the University's Development Plan and the Strategic Direction of the Faculty.

  • Promote and encourage Extension and Social Projection services in its different lines of action: Services and Continuing Education, Social Projection and Graduates.

  • Promote the inter-institutional relationship of the Faculty, through the articulation of strategies with private and public companies and institutions, national and international NGOs and community organizations.

  • Promote the consolidation and strengthening of links with the Faculty's graduates, through the participation of the graduates in the different modalities of extension and social projection.

  • To carry out the administrative actions and processes to support the execution and adequate provision of Extension and Social Projection services of the Faculty.

  • Manage processes, internal and external alliances with organizations that facilitate the development of professional practices, internships and entrepreneurship..

  • Articulate the processes of the Vice-Dean's Office, the regulations and the processes of the Vice-Rectory of Extension and Social Projection.

The actions of the Office of Extension and Social Projection of the School of Engineering may be financed by external entities or offered in solidarity as support to organized vulnerable communities and non-profit institutions with limited resources. The University Social Extension Center of the School of Engineering works hand in hand with companies to strengthen research and community work, among other actions.
