Services of the Directorate of Engineering Graduate Studies
The Postgraduate Department of the School of Engineering provides a series of support to the University Community, especially to the Postgraduate Coordination of the Schools, Postgraduate students and administrative staff, in order to provide guidance in academic, curricular and promotional matters of the specialization, master's and doctoral programs of the School.
Services for teachers:
- Support is provided to teachers in common subjects, with code 700 (research subjects), with updated information on curricular content and follow-up in academic programming and resources for the performance of teaching work.
Student services:
- Initially, it advises and guides in the processes associated with the program and research groups of interest; subsequently, it follows up in case of difficulties in the structuring of the research proposal, evaluation and approval procedures in the academic coordinations. Finally, if required, support is provided in the evaluation process of the research work (master's degree) and thesis (doctorate) through the academic coordinations.
Services for administrative personnel:
We support and work together with the administrative personnel of the different emphases in the following manner:
- The academic coordinators work with the academic coordinators on general academic administration policies and support the secretariats in the academic and student enrollment processes.
- In the case of the Doctorate in Engineering, the minutes of socialization and support of theses, review of reports of scholarship students and follow-up of student cases are generated.
- Support and follow-up in the Quality Assurance processes of the postgraduate programs, such as: follow-up of improvement plans, review of the documentation of programs undergoing curricular modification, creation of new programs and renewal of qualified registration.
- Support and advice in the processes of promotion and general communication of the offerings of the graduate programs of the School of Engineering.
- Support in the participation of academic and institutional events directly related to the FI Graduate Management, such as: welcoming graduate students at a general level, graduate fair, academic activities (congresses, seminars, conferences, etc.) with other educational or private entities, among others.
- Support in the management of inter-institutional agreements and agreements with companies in the sector identified by the postgraduate coordinators of each academic unit.
