Qualified registration:

Qualified registration is a condition for the offering of programs and, therefore, corresponds to mandatory requirements. Therefore, unlike accreditation, it does not respond to an autonomous decision of the institutions or programs. The analysis and comparison with guidelines defined by the different academic and professional communities and the analysis of how they respond to social expectations is essential. This is done, in the first instance, by the institution and the program itself and then, through the judgment of academic peers and members of the CONACES chambers in the external evaluation instance.

High Quality Accreditation:

The process of high quality accreditation implies the fulfillment of the previous or basic conditions of quality for the offer and development of an academic program; it refers fundamentally to how an institution and its academic programs orient their duty to be towards an ideal of excellence, and can show high quality through specific results, consolidated tradition, impact and social recognition. Act by which the State adopts and makes public the recognition made by academic peers of the verification made by an institution on the quality of its academic programs, its organization and operation and the fulfillment of its social function. Agreement No. 06 of December 14, 1995 of the National Council of Higher Education -CESU- "Whereby the general accreditation policies are adopted and any contrary regulations are repealed".

Saber Pro-Spanish test

GRACA Engineering conducts a workshop every semester to approach the critical reading and argumentative writing modules of the Saber-Pro exam, which students in their last semesters must take. The workshop consists of three sessions as shown below:

Sessions I and II have a theoretical part in which a contextualization of the corresponding module is made, followed by tips and strategies for the development of the test. In addition, at the end of each one, a practical exercise is performed and any doubts that may arise are clarified. In the last session, the simulation is applied and a socialization about it is carried out.

Reading and writing are complex processes that are closely related to learning and, therefore, to good academic performance. However, at the university level there is little guidance, since it is assumed that students are already prepared to face the various challenges that these activities imply.

In response to the above, the Continuous Improvement Program of the School of Engineering, with the support of the Network for Reading and Writing in Higher Education (REDLEES) -Univalle node-, created in 2014 the Support Group for Academic Culture (GRACA) Engineering Node, in which interdisciplinary work is carried out between tutors from the School of Engineering and tutors from the Bachelor's Degree in Foreign Languages program at the Universidad del Valle.

At GRACA Engineering students will find:

• Individual or group counseling.
• Support to teachers.
• Review and support for the drafting process of the preliminary project / graduate work.
• APA and IEEE citation.
• Revision of diverse academic texts such as: laboratory reports, essays, reviews, among others.
